The ELEMENTS Framework: A Structured Approach to Startup Validation
Most startup frameworks are too vague to be useful. ‘Find product-market fit’ is advice, not a process. The ELEMENTS framework is different—it’s a step-by-step system for validating ideas before you build.
The framework has five stages: Problem Validation (do people actually have this problem?), Customer Research (who has it, and how badly?), Solution Design (what’s the simplest thing we can build?), Validation Testing (will people actually use it?), and Mentor Mapping (who can help us scale this?).
Each stage has specific deliverables. By the end of Problem Validation, you have a clear hypothesis. By the end of Customer Research, you have user personas and pain point maps. By the end of Solution Design, you have an MVP spec and business model.
The goal isn’t perfection—it’s velocity. You want to move through these stages fast enough to learn but slow enough to avoid building the wrong thing. Five days is the sweet spot.
If you’re starting a company and don’t know where to begin, start with ELEMENTS. It’s the fastest way to turn an idea into validated conviction.
