MVP Design Workshop

Most MVPs are neither minimal nor viable. Founders spend six months building features nobody asked for, then wonder why users don’t stick around.

This workshop teaches you how to scope an MVP you can actually ship—one that solves a real problem for real users, without the bloat. You’ll learn prototyping techniques, wireframing best practices, and user testing fundamentals that help you validate ideas before you write a single line of code.

The goal isn’t to build something perfect. It’s to build something testable, fast.

Curriculum

01

Prototyping

  • Paper prototypes: the fastest way to test an idea
  • Low-fidelity wireframes: sketching user flows without getting distracted by design
  • High-fidelity prototypes: making it look real without building it
  • Tools: Figma, Balsamiq, and when to use which
02

Wireframing

  • Information architecture: organizing content so users can find it
  • User flow mapping: understanding the path from landing page to conversion
  • Component libraries: reusing patterns to build faster
  • Mobile-first vs desktop-first: which approach makes sense for your product
03

User Testing Fundamentals

  • Running user tests with 5 people (the magic number)
  • The think-aloud protocol: getting users to narrate their experience
  • What to ask (and what not to ask) in user interviews
  • Turning feedback into actionable insights
  • Remote vs in-person testing: pros and cons of each

What You'll Achieve

  • Create low and high-fidelity prototypes for your product
  • Wireframe complete user flows from landing page to key actions
  • Conduct user testing sessions that generate real insights
  • Scope an MVP that's shippable in weeks, not months
  • Validate design decisions before committing to development

Mentors

Led by product designers and UX researchers who've designed products used by millions. Our mentors have shipped MVPs at early-stage startups and refined products at scale-ups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need design experience?
No. We teach fundamentals from scratch. Expect to spend time learning Figma if you've never used it.
I'm a developer—do I need this?
Yes. Prototyping before coding saves weeks of dev time. You'll learn how to validate ideas fast and avoid building the wrong thing.
How long does the workshop take?
Two intensive days. Day 1 is prototyping and wireframing; Day 2 is user testing and iteration.
